2011 OBS WRITERS' RETREAT - JAMAICA
               November 7 - 13, 2011

Accommodations:

We'll inhabit the private villas of Ocho Rios, away from the main stream tourist traps of the
hotels. Private gardens, courtyards, and secluded beaches will be our haven.   We'll utilize
the Prospect Villas which are fully staffed with a cook, butler, maid/laundress and all night
security. To unwind, enjoy the use of the Estate's tennis court and mini-golf course. Each
villa has its own pool, sun deck and sea access and is equipped with:
Air-conditioned bedrooms, Cable television with 46 channels, Telephone, Stereo cassette/CD
player, Night time security guards, &
High Speed WiFi Internet Access

We'll arrange flights to Jamaica (Montego Bay) on Air Jamaica, Delta or Continental
Airlines. .Along with ground transportation to the retreat.   Your best resource for
comprehensive information on Jamaica — including Ocho Rios — is the 50 year-old
Jamaica Tourist Board.

Prospect Villas:

Villa Frangipani
Frangipani is the newest of the luxury villas on the historic Prospect Estate. Each of the four
deluxe air-conditioned bedrooms has its own private verandah, bathroom and separate
powder room. Your housekeeper will make sure every night that your bed is turned down,
the A/C is on (or off if you prefer,)the shutters are closed and that you have fresh water on
your night stand.
   The spacious living room is equipped with cable TV, telephone and CD stereo system. The
ceiling fans plus the gentle breeze keep the living area cool. The cook, who really is more of
a chef will make sure that all your meals on are memorable. Breakfast is usually fresh fruits, or
if you are willing, then perhaps some Ackee and Salt Fish instead.
   The central verandah, where you will find that you spend much of your lazy time, leads
out to a magnificent pool with a sun deck perfect for working on that enviable tan. The pool
is, of course, sparkling and inviting. It is large so you can do laps to your hearts content, or
just float lazily, waiting for lunch. Just past the pool you will find a stairway with 132 steps
down the cliff to a jetty with walk-out access to the clear blue waters of the
Caribbean.

Villa Somewhere –

Villa Somewhere is a fantastic 4 bedroom, 4 en-suite bathroom villa in the middle of Prospect
Plantation. Your staff of three is courteous, efficient and always at your service. Your dining
table is decorated with different flowers at each meal. they will arrange any excursions you
might want to take. Just ask them for anything.
Just a few short steps away is your large, private pool and just beyond that you will find the
azure waters of the Caribbean Sea. There is a sea side deck with ocean access for those
who love to swim in the ocean. There are sun chairs so you can catch some rays (Be careful!
The sun is strong in Jamaica) or just allow the creative juices to flow.
The two master bedrooms have their own terrace under flowering vines that are favorites of
the hummingbirds. The main verandah has several chairs and chaises and is a favorite spot
to have that first cup of coffee in the morning, before sitting at the dining table (also on the
verandah) for Your breakfast of fresh fruit.

Villa Wagwater –
Villa Wagwater is Prospect's best kept little secret. Three bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
Perfect for a wondeful family vacation. As always, the staff of is courteous, efficient and
dedicated to your pleasure. All you need do is decide what you would like to eat and
when, and it is all taken care of for you. If you would like to go on any excursions, just ask
and it will be arranged.
Your large, private pool is right outside the door and has a gorgeous view of the deep,
azure blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. There are sun chairs around the pool so you can
catch some rays (Be careful! The sun is strong in Jamaica) or catch up on the newest best-
seller or read your email with the new addition of wireless broadband internet access..bring
your laptop.

Your breakfast of fresh fruit.

Transportation
R/T Transportation will be provided from Montego Bay Airport to retreat villas. The average
cost of taxis for personal trips is usually $25.00 per person one-way not including tip.   The
main workshop area for the retreat is walking distance and motor transportation not
required unless you choose. Transportation will be provided for group tour; however
minimum gratuity per person is $7.00.

Travel
Please be advised you must have a U.S. Passport to enter Jamaica. You can renew your
passport online, but if it is your first one you must apply in person by going into any U.S. Post
Office that has passport services or to the Federal Building (by appointment only). To obtain
your passport you must have an “Authorized Copy” of your birth certificate and [passport
